白斑瓦鰈

<em>Poecilopsetta albomaculata</em> is a flatfish belonging to the family Poecilopsettidae, found in marine saltwater environments. This species inhabits relatively deep water, with records indicating a depth range of approximately 256 to 293 metres, placing it in the upper bathypelagic to lower mesopelagic zone of the continental shelf and slope. It attains a maximum recorded length of approximately 14 cm. Details of habitat and range for this species remain limited in the ichthyological literature, which is common for many deep-shelf flatfishes that are infrequently encountered in demersal trawl surveys. Like all flatfishes, <em>P. albomaculata</em> undergoes metamorphosis from a bilaterally symmetrical larva into an asymmetric benthic adult, lying on one side on the seafloor.
