Giải thích chi tiết

Catch-and-release mortality rates depend on water temperature, fight duration, hook type, and handling technique. Barbless hooks reduce lip injury and facilitate quick release. Holding fish out of water exceeding 30 seconds doubles post-release mortality in species like bonefish and striped bass. Wet hands minimize removal of the protective mucus layer. Deep-hooking, particularly in warmer water, causes the highest mortality; circle hooks significantly reduce deep-hooking compared to J-hooks. Species like tarpon and bonefish, dependent on anadromous flats, have experienced conservation-driven adoption of mandatory catch-and-release regulations in key fisheries.
