<em>Coregonus zuerichensis</em>, the Zürich whitefish or a closely related coregonid form from the Lake Zürich basin, belongs to the family Salmonidae. Endemic to deep prealpine Swiss lakes, this freshwater species occupies depths from approximately 12 to 100 metres — one of the shallower depth ranges documented among the local coregonid assemblage. Adults can reach up to approximately 42 cm in total length. Members of this genus are planktivores and invertebrate feeders, exploiting the limnetic zone during colder periods and retreating to deeper, cooler water during thermal stratification. The Swiss lake coregonids are a taxonomically complex group, with many species and forms having been described from individual lake basins. Populations of <em>Coregonus zuerichensis</em> and its relatives have faced historical pressure from eutrophication and fisheries exploitation. Details of habitat and range for this species remain limited in the ichthyological literature. Conservation status is not formally evaluated.
