Carbon fiber (carbonite) and NTN ceramic drag materials provide smooth, consistent pressure across a wide temperature range. Sealed drag systems on saltwater reels prevent corrosion from salt and sand. Big-game species like bluefin tuna or marlin require drags capable of sustained loads exceeding 15 kg without overheating.
