О рыбе

Tanichthys albiventris is a very small freshwater fish belonging to the family Tanichthyidae, closely related to the well-known white cloud mountain minnow Tanichthys albonubes. Native to stream systems in China, members of this genus inhabit cool, clear, fast-flowing mountain streams with rocky substrates and abundant vegetation. This species attains a maximum recorded length of approximately 2.81 cm, making it one of the more diminutive representatives of the family. Details of habitat and range for this species remain limited in the ichthyological literature. The genus Tanichthys has attracted considerable interest from aquarists, and while T. albonubes is by far the most widely kept species, T. albiventris may appeal to hobbyists specialising in cool-water nano aquariums. A tank replicating clear, lightly mineralised, cool mountain stream conditions with moderate water flow, a substrate of fine gravel and smooth stones, and sparse or moderate planting is appropriate. Water temperature in the range of 16–22 °C is recommended, as this species is unlikely to thrive at the elevated temperatures typical of tropical community tanks. Feeding on high-quality micro pellets, small flakes, and tiny live or frozen invertebrates should sustain it well. Its conservation status has not been formally assessed.
