A small bottom-dwelling cyprinid from freshwater rivers in Lalin region of China. Part of the false gudgeon group, with mottled brownish coloration adapted for life on sandy or muddy river bottoms.
Physical Description
Coloration
Light tan to pale brownish body with a narrow dusky mid-lateral stripe and scattered dark speckling on the back; belly pale; typical false gudgeon body form with small size and subtly mottled flanks.
Habitat & Distribution
Freshwater rivers of the Lalin River system in northeastern China (Heilongjiang Province). Inhabits the shallow sandy and silty substrates of lowland rivers.
Distribuição Geográfica
Known from the Lalin River system in Heilongjiang Province, northeastern China, a tributary of the Songhua River within the larger Amur River drainage. Inhabits cool temperate lowland streams and river backwaters.
