정의
A small float or buoyant material attached to a fly line to detect subtle strikes when nymph fishing. Functions similarly to a bobber in conventional fishing.
상세 설명
Strike indicators for nymph fishing range from yarn loops (minimal drag, most sensitive) to foam cylinders (highest visibility) and adhesive foam putty (fully adjustable depth). New Zealand-style indicators are designed to slam to the surface quickly to achieve a drag-free drift in fast currents. The New Zealand 'sighter' system uses bi-colored monofilament sections in the leader to detect takes underwater without a floating indicator — allowing deeper nymphing at high speed. Strike detection by indicator movement, hesitation, or acceleration requires constant concentration; European nymphing competitions have elevated indicator-free subsurface detection to a high art form.
