Alburnus volviticus

<em>Alburnus volviticus</em> is a small freshwater fish in the family Leuciscidae, native to freshwater systems in the Balkans or southwestern Europe. This species reaches a maximum recorded length of approximately 30.0 cm, placing it among the larger members of the genus <em>Alburnus</em>. Depth range records suggest it may be encountered at depths of up to 23 meters, indicating it potentially inhabits not only surface and mid-water zones but also deeper areas of lakes or slower-flowing river reaches. It is a slender, silvery fish with a laterally compressed body and the characteristic upturned mouth of the bleak group, suited for feeding on surface or near-surface invertebrates and insects.
