Gobio acutipinnatus

<em>Gobio acutipinnatus</em> is a freshwater fish of the family Gobionidae, a group of small, primarily benthic cypriniform fishes distributed across Eurasia. This species reaches a maximum recorded length of approximately 12.4 cm. Members of the genus <em>Gobio</em>, commonly known as gudgeons, inhabit rivers and streams with clear to moderately turbid water, typically preferring sandy or gravelly substrates where they forage along the bottom for small invertebrates, insect larvae, crustaceans, and organic detritus. Their slightly inferior mouth position reflects a benthic feeding habit. The specific epithet "acutipinnatus" refers to sharply pointed fins. <em>Gobio acutipinnatus</em> is native to freshwater systems in Central Asia.
