A reddish blenny from Indo-Pacific coastal rocky habitats, with spiny dorsal fin rays as a defense mechanism. Inhabits crevices and holes in rocky and reef substrates at shallow depths.

Coloration
Reddish to orange-red overall body with scattered pale spots; tiny blenny form with characteristic rufous coloration distinguishing it from the spotted congener; fins reddish-orange; fleshy head appendages.
Habitat & Distribution
Shallow tropical marine rocky reef habitats in the Indo-Pacific. Inhabits intertidal and shallow subtidal rocky zones at depths of 1-15m.

Recorded from coastal coral reef habitats of the western Pacific, including parts of the Indonesian Archipelago and the Philippine island groups. Found in crevices and rubble areas of shallow tropical reef systems to 25 m depth.
